Each year about this time I am planning out which planner I will use for the new year. It is also about the time I am deciding what goal (s) I want to set for myself for the upcoming year and how I will get those accomplished.
To keep me on track I use a planner. I know we live in a digital world and everything is on our phones, but if you are like me you still want to write things down that need to get done.
Once I order my planner, I get excited waiting for its delivery. I don’t want the mailman to think I’m a complete crazy nut so I’m usually peeking out the window waiting for his arrival. Most people don’t get that excited about their new yearly planner, but I can’t help it. It means I made it another year and I can start setting my next plan of action.

I’ve tried many planners in my lifetime. There are things I love about each of them and things that they offered that I really had no use for. My main need for a planner is to keep track of appointments and set goals. I also prefer some inspiration while I do it. For those reasons these are my favorite planners of choice:
The one I’ve used for the longest time was my Franklin Covey Planner. I took the Seven Habits Training and loved every moment of it. For that reason, I also love their planners. They have inspirational quotes and keep you focused on the seven habits. I wouldn’t call this an actual goal planner, but you can definitely add your goals to it. You have to buy the binder separate, but it will last you a very long time. Then each new year you fill it up with your planner pages.
My next choice and one that I have currently been using for several years is the Tools4Wisdom planner. What I love about this is each month it has a section to set your goals. Then it asks you to list out what steps you need to take to reach those goals. It’s like having a Life Coach in my hands at all times.
It also has a monthly priorities Master list, a place for one daily goal and weekly goals. It comes in two sizes and many styles to accommodate what fits you best. If you are a goal setter this is your planner.
If you have a specific goal you want to set. Then I suggest the Life & Apple Planner. They have a motivational planner designed for whatever area in your life you need to focus on. The planners they offer include wellness, meal, budget, and personal growth. Each planner has a set of monthly goals to keep you on track.
Want to combine your appointment planner with a journal in one book? Try the Daily Greatness. All their planners are undated so you can start them at any time. They have a family planner to help transform your family goals. Which is a perfect choice if you have small children.
Other specific planners they offer are Business, Yoga, Success, Wellness, and Training. They also have their original planner that includes areas for gratitude, reminders, intentions, appointment, inspired actions and nightly reflections. Let’s just say if I could marry a planner this might be the one!
Whichever you choose, remember 2020 isn’t far away. Let’s crush our goals and make this the best possible year ever!
