Welcome to Mindfully Ela!
In 2005, I picked up my first book on mindfulness Happiness: Essential Mindfulness Practices by Thich Nhat Hahn. I fell in love with a new way of thinking about life. It changed the way I look at things and the importance of having peace in my life. Since then, I have continued educating myself about living mindfully.
A few years back, I became a empty nester, lost my father, went through a difficult divorce, lost a best friend, and changed careers all within a few years. I was at the lowest point of my life. I’ve always handled my problems on my own and this time was no different. Although, I had two wonderful friends that were my support group, I didn’t want to burden them with my problems. Instead, I threw myself into reading, writing (most of the articles for this blog), meditation and yoga, which is where I always go when I need reflect and grow.
Through my entire life each experience has lead me to where I am now, which is the best place I’ve ever been. I have an amazing love, loyal friends, family and my dedicated companion, Rocky. I am now a certified Life Coach and Mindfulness Practitioner and I continue to educate myself to keep growing on my journey. Like the lotus flower, we have to go through the mud and slime to grow into the beautiful existence we were meant to be.
Peace & Love,
Ela
