When I first realized I was going through menopause I noticed a weight gain that I’d never had before. I’ve been the same weight for most of my life. However, within a few months I’d put on ten pounds and I was not happy about it.
When our bodies are low on estrogen it can cause us to eat more, be less active and lower our metabolism. It also causes other menopause symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, dry skin, low sex drive, headaches, and moodiness.
Eating estrogen rich foods and foods that balance our hormones can help reduce or eliminate these symptoms.
Estrogen is a group of sex hormones that are found in both men and women. This group of hormones is what makes us women act like women. However, when we start going through menopause, we start to lose estrogen.
Now that might not sound too bad, except low estrogen causes premature aging along with the other symptoms I mentioned above.
No matter if you are naturally going through menopause or taking estrogen prescribed by your doctor if you want to feel your best you should eat healthy foods.

That’s not all I do. I incorporate healthy estrogen rich foods and adaptogens in my diet to balance my hormones and relieve menopause symptoms.
