If you read my article, How to Buy the Perfect Gift Using Mindfulness, you are probably filled with new knowledge about someone in your life that you need to buy a gift for.
So, where do you go from here? Shopping of course.
If your person loves or needs physical items, then why not purchase their gift from a small business? I am a huge supporter of small businesses. Owning my own small business, I understand the need to support other small businesses. When it comes time for me to buy for others (unless they are specific with something they want) I always try to help other artisans and artists.
One place that you can do this is Etsy.
I love Etsy. I’ve bought many gifts for people there. No matter what the person you are buying for loves, type it in and I guarantee you are going to get a plethora of gift ideas for them. Before I make a purchase, I always enjoy scrolling to the bottom of the store page and reading about the person who is making this gift for my special someone.
Here are some mindful gifts and business I’ve dealt with on Etsy:
Dragonfly Pottery. Who doesn’t love a piece of pottery? If the person you are purchasing for loves coffee or tea, their mugs would make a beautifully mindful gift. Their pottery is a special order, so it takes a few weeks to get to you, but it’s worth it. You will see my mug from them soon in my Instagram feed.
Thorton and Co. If you are buying for someone that has a pet they love more than anything, why not give them a beautiful leather collar for their four-legged friend. Our dog Rocky has one, made by these guys and it has been the best collar for any animal I’ve ever had.
RockFanatic. Do they love nature and jewelry? This little store offers many unique jewelry pieces made with natural gems. I have three of their necklaces.
Woodulike. Perhaps they love golf. Check out this shop that offers golf gift ideas.
NaturalSucculents. As a gardener and lover of nature, I can deeply appreciate a good plant. Succulents are all the rage right now and make the perfect gift. That’s not all this shop does. They offer gift boxes of all different kinds and personalized gifts.
Also, don’t count out other small businesses because they are online. There are many small businesses that could use your support. If you need some ideas for mindful gift-giving, consider these ideas from smalls businesses that I use:
Soothi. Soothi offers these incredible journals that would make the perfect gift for the person who loves to write. They also offer leather passport covers for the traveler in your life.
Modern Artisians. This is another online store like Etsy, where you can purchase handcrafted items such as jewelry, home decor and garden art from artisans. They even donate a percentage of each sale to a charity.
Some other places you can find mindful gifts are a local business, crafts show, and festivals in your area.
Now you’ve taken care of those in your life that you want to purchase tangible gifts for, but wait there is still that minimalist that needs a gift. What should you do?
